New York Times highlights Auk article demonstrating 'cycle of violence' in birds

In their October 10, 2011 edition,
The New York Times relays research slated to appear in
The Auk 128:4 this fall that, for the first time, provides evidence for the "cycle of violence" hypothesis that abused children are more likely to become abusers themselves as adults.
The article looks at a community of Galápagos Island Nazca boobies over three breeding seasons, documenting abusive behavior towards chicks and correlating this behavior to the action of these same chicks later in life, towards new chicks.
