New from UC Press: Journal of Vietnamese Studies

August 31, 2006

University of California Press is proud to announce the upcoming availability of Journal of Vietnamese Studies (VS). Coming in November 2006, Journal of Vietnamese Studies will be the world's only peer-reviewed, English-language journal devoted solely to scholarship on the history, politics, society, and culture, of Vietnam. Published for the Center for Southeast Asia Studies at UC Berkeley, VS promises to be a vital forum for debate and research on Vietnam.

Journal of Vietnamese Studies is devoted to publishing a wide range of scholarship on Vietnamese history, culture, politics and society, to supporting research that is both innovative and meticulous and to encouraging work that reassesses what passes for conventional wisdom within the field”, says Peter Zinoman co-Editor in Chief .

Mariam B. Lam, co-Editor in Chief adds, “I am looking forward to seeing innovative interdisciplinary directions for scholarship by new generations of Vietnamologists alongside rigorous and provocative disciplinary and archival work.”

University of California Press and The Center for Southeast Asia Studies wish to thank the Henry Luce Foundation for their generous assistance in supporting the launch and publication of Journal of Vietnamese Studies.
