Andrew Miller's essay "Lives Unled in Realist Fiction" in Representations 98 has been awarded the NAVSA (North American Victorian Studies Association) 2007 Donald Gray Prize for the best essay in Victorian studies. The essay appeared in the forum "Counterfactual Realities" edited by Cathy Gallagher, Mark Maslan, and Paul St. Amour. The prize committee observed that Millerr's piece is "a haunting and rich article that makes big arguments and reassesses the nature of realist fiction in rewarding ways."
