UC Press Author Wins History Award

Thomas A. Krainz has been awarded the 2006 Michael P. Malone Award from the Western History Association for his article "Culture and Poverty: Progressive Era Relief in the Rural West," which appeared in the February 2005 issue of
Pacific Historical Review (74:1). The Michael P. Malone Award is given by the WHA for best article, essay, or commentary on state, provincial, or territorial history in North America appearing in a periodical publication. Professor Krainz is a member of the history department at Framingham State College in Massachusetts.
