The Journal of Musicology welcomes articles in all areas of musical scholarship, including history, criticism, analysis, performance practice, and archival research. JM does not regularly publish reviews, but does invite proposals for review essays on important books, music editions and conference reports. JM cannot consider articles that have been published elsewhere nor those that are are currently under consideration by another journal. The Journal promises an unbiased reading of submissions but does not attempt to conceal authors' names from readers.
Submissions should be sent in electronic form (as an attachment to an e-mail message) to submissions@journalofmusicology.org. Please include the text; figures, tables and music examples; an abstract; and complete contact information (e-mail, telephone, and postal address).
For detailed guidelines visit the JM editorial Web page at http://www.journalofmusicology.org. Questions about submission may be addressed to submissions@journalofmusicology.org.
